Description
2017 Virtuosi Music Institute presents an eclectic program showcasing the members of the Faculty and guests. Mezzo-soprano Kerry Gotschall will join the Ensemble for selection of arias by J. S. Bach. Violinist Brunilda Myftaraj will be joined by Adrian Sylveen on viola for the performance of beautiful Mozart’s Sinfonia Concertante. Also in program famous “Serenade for Strings” by Edward Elgar.

Description
Sylveen String Quartet returning to the concert stage after a period of individual explorations, the group will perform two renowned string quartets of Mozart and Schumann. The “Dissonant” String Quartet No.19 in C major, K.465 of Mozart is one of the most famous pieces in the string quartet repertoire, famous for it’s harmonic tensions and almost – romantic phrasing. Schumann’s String Quartet No. 1, Op. 41 No. 1 in A minor is a brilliant exploration of possibilities of the ensemble.

Brilliant violinist Brunilda Myftaraj is joined by pianist Blake Hansen in a new revision of famous Sonatas for Violin and Piano by Ludwig van Beethoven. This “bigger than life revolutionary of music holds a permanent place in the history of music.

Description
One of the most favorite baroque English operas will be presented with staging, costumes, and VMI Festival Orchestra. The story is based on Book IV of Virgil’s Aeneid. It recounts the love of Dido, Queen of Carthage, for the Trojan hero Aeneas, and her despair when he abandons her.
